IT’S ONLY THE BEGINNING…

“Congratulations!” I was 6 weeks pregnant and I had just told my family the exciting news. I was feeling overjoyed and excited about the pending pregnancy and the new baby to be born in 9 months. I felt great, I was excited and ready to starting planning the nursery… and then reality set in. Morning sickness that lasted all day long, my favorite foods not agreeing with me, the inability to stay awake past 8:00pm and finally, being overly emotional about anything and everything. The baby hadn’t even been born yet, but I felt like I was going through such a tough time just being pregnant.

“Congratulations!” was also the typical response we received whenever we told someone we were starting a business. They usually looked at us with a mixture of envy and awe. I wasn’t sure what we were being congratulated for, but it felt good. We were excited and we couldn’t wait to get our business up and running. Then our reality set in. None of us had ever started a business before and there was definitely a learning curve! Juggling mommy duties and work, mid-week meetings lasting until midnight, deadlines, loan options, website mishaps and more. After a few months in the trenches, the only thing people might have been congratulating us about was hanging in there. We endured a lot these last few months, but our reward was launching a site that we our proud of and one that is filled with a variety of photo card designs we know our customers will love.
